Your Tour Guide Bob is passionate in making sure that all of his tours are an experience that a visitor will enjoy. Even the most seasoned Townsville history buff will come away with stories never heard before.
Bob has over 10 years’ experience in local Museums. He has been trained as a museum curator at Deakin University and the Australian War Memorial.
The Australian Army has awarded him 2 Commendations for his work in preserving and presenting local military history and Army Unit history. He is currently also the Head Curator of an Army Unit Museum at Lavarack Barracks, here in Townsville.
His knowledge of the local history of Townsville has been in the making for over 30 years. Surrounded by family and friends (many being descendants from the pioneers of Townsville) and their local stories attracted Bob to a whole array of info not privy to most, but work hand in hand with the great research of local historians and authors of the history of the city.
Townsville History Walking Tours™ is the brainchild of Kim, who has realised the potential of Bob’s knowledge and enthusiasm. With Kim’s sound experience in administration and finance and along with Bob’s expertise they make a great team in presenting a new and exciting tourism venture for the city.
